Aspen Mesh, an F5 Innovation, needs a talented Senior Software Engineer in Test to lead the development organization in establishing automated testing best practices for a highly distributed and resilient microservice architecture. We offer a collaborative, fast-paced early stage environment with a high performing team passionate about bringing a new product to an up-and-coming market. In this role you will use their programming skills to automate and innovate in all areas of the Service Mesh product and platform.

You will code in the best language and environment for the problem-at-hand developing a suite of automated tests needed to certify the quality of Aspen Mesh software releases. Your work will encompass all parts of the system, leveraging your existing strengths while developing experience in new languages and frameworks. You will work closely with Data Scientists and Infrastructure Geeks. Depending on your level of interest, you may occasionally have opportunities to contribute to product development.

What you will do:

  • Form the cornerstone of quality at Aspen Mesh and will work in a technical capacity to help hire, build, and lead a team of software developers in test. Owns quality and relentlessly pushes the entire organization to up the ante.
  • Builds and maintains the quality certification process for Aspen Mesh software releases.
  • Work with Customer Success to resolve customer support issues. This may include setting up customer environments, reproducing defects, fixing defects, or escalating defects to a development team.
  • Creates test plans, and develops/maintains automated integration tests using groundbreaking technology such as Go, Kubernetes, and Istio.

  • Passion for early-stage product development and comfort with short agile development cycles. This includes a desire to do what it takes to be successful that may require activities outside of pure coding (such as testing, documentation, talking to customers to provide support, etc.)

  • Ability to own and deliver projects and results of growing technical complexity
  • BA/BS from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 8 years of related experience or 6 years and a Master’s degree;
  • 5+years experience in software engineering with multiple languages like Go, Python, Node.js, front-end JavaScript or TypeScript, C++/.Net. Also, experience with a version control system like git.
  • Experience developing APIs, microservices, and/or server-side or distributed systems (containerized systems like Docker or Kubernetes a plus).
