Aspen Mesh is looking for a Principal Solution Engineer to join our service provider team. In this role, you will be responsible for working closely with our service provider customers and prospects to craft highly scalable, flexible and resilient architectures that address customer business problems and accelerate the adoption of Aspen Mesh.

As our dedicated solution engineer for service providers, you’ll have the opportunity to work closely with business and technical leadership to refine and optimize our approach and product for service providers worldwide. You’ll need a diverse skill set, from curiosity and strong communication skills to deep technical experience and the desire to solve new and challenging problems.

Your Day-to-Day

  • Engage with Aspen Mesh’s service provider customers and prospects to understand their needs and show how our product can address them
  • Lead prospects through the evaluation process, answering all technical questions
  • Work with customers to help them better harness Aspen Mesh to address their needs
  • Develop solution architectures that demonstrate recommended solutions to solve key customer needs
  • Listen for unmet needs that Aspen Mesh might be able to solve and communicate those to the product team
  • Identify and research new and emerging technologies, companies and open source projects relevant to next generation service provider needs
  • Generate and promote new theories, concepts, principles and methodologies around how service mesh can solve key challenges for service providers.

What You’ll Bring to the Team

  • Deep technical skills in software architecture as well as customer facing skills at all levels of an organization
  • Expert knowledge about service provider technology patterns
  • Ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges.
  • Experience with automation and orchestration practices, knowledge of agile development methodologies, and a good understanding of DevOps and what it means to application delivery (CI/CD)
  • Experience with Kubernetes
  • Working knowledge of Python, JavaScript, TCL, and other relevant scripting and programming languages
  • Natural inclination to explore, prototype, and self-teach
  • Strong public speaking and communication skills on complex technical topics


  • 12+ years relevant experience
  • BS/BA or equivalent work experience
  • Proficient in spoken and written English
  • F5 product experience and/or relevant experience in key competitor offerings
  • Background in service provider architectures, deployments, and operations
  • Application development experience is desirable
